Outside of our 52 acre facility in Rapid City, SD we also have several inventory locations across the country. We have established solid relationships with mills over the last 35 years that allow us to make large positions and ship mill direct. Our sales staff, with over 250 years of experience in the lumber industry, uses our remanufacturing and distribution facility as well as our importing business to complement direct shipments, making Forest Products Distributors a domestic manufacturer’s one-stop lumber supplier. We have developed capabilities that enable us to provide unique services for our customers, including component manufacturing, re-manufacturing, re-grading, re-packaging, and expanding inventories. We are a RRA (Renewable Resource Association) producer and offer AWPA, lumber grading, and Heat Treat/IPPC services.

Since 1988, we have supplied Class IV (wood) to the US military and to other US Government customers. Most of our business in high volume – logistically sensitive plywood and lumber. Our specialty is in loading and shipping containers. Since 2008, we have loaded more than 7,000 containers of plywood and lumber. We have restricted vendor TLSC contracts with DLA, plus we have other supply contracts where we ship to other military bases. In addition, as needed, we have maintained large volumes of buffer material in Europe. FPD is very committed to military and government supply of wood.
